So randomly decided to chuck a different colour on as I was getting bored and fancied a change. I bought L'oReal Feria - Mango Intense Copper
It's quite different I know but I just think this colour is gorgeous! My hair was quite faded anyway so I just figured I would put it over the top as it has peroxide in it anyway. But no, this didn't quite turn out the way I planned.
A bit multi tonal! I changed it back again the next day haha!
It wasn't supposed to cancel the red hair you still had in your hair. usually you need some bleach to remove artificial haircolor, peroxide doesn't work on its own for this. you could have used a bleach wash to even out more your all over haircolor. you should learn more about how hair color really works, the level system, peroxide, bleaching, so you won't screw up your hair, or someone else's. I just stumbled over your blog beacuse i was looking for some wella color touch photos, and you gave it 1 star, but because you didn't apply it how you are supposed to... you don't put a level 7 or 8 red over bleached level 10 or higher and expect it to last much... color touch 77/45 is tone on tone, which means if a natural medium blond girl would have used it, or someone already dyed red level 7 or 8 to refresh it, the result is longer lasting. check out this blog http://killerstrands.blogspot.ro/ the lady here is a true salon colorist who shares all the techniques so you don't make mistakes at home. and she is also studied chemistry so she will explain why some things don't work how you think they should.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments. I never said I was a professional - in fact I often make mistakes and that is how I normally learn! This blog is intended to share my own experiences with different dyes. With regards to the Wella Colour Touch, this was not a colouring style I was familiar with but when I went into Sally's (a professional hair product supplier) and they could see my hair, that was the product and colour they recommended to get a bright red result. So for this reason I was disappointed with the results compared to the other dyes I have used which results have been much better with less chemicals and easier to use at home. Thanks, Sam
