Hey Everyone,
I haven't posted in over a year now. I have been going through some personal issues since my last post and was feeling quite down and un-motivated. I didn't feel that my bright hair reflected my personality at the time and felt like it was too much effort for me to maintain. So I decided to dye my hair... brown!! I never used to think I would end up back with the hair colour that I used to call "boring brown"
After about a month I got bored (lol!) and put a small amount of ombre in the ends, then about a month after that dyed the ends turquoise, followed by all over brown, followed by a lot more ombre, now I'm back to all over brown again!
Here's a some pictures of my hairstyles from the past year (not in order). Most recent is the glasses pic (I need glasses for the computer now!):
I no longer feel that brown hair is "boring" and I feel it works for me in my busy life. However, I do really miss having red hair but I don't think I could put my hair through all the bleaching I had to do at the start to get that colour! I will be staying brown for now but I still like to mix things up and I am considering trying Manic Panic over unbleached hair.
This year, I have also made 2 life decisions, number 1 is since February I became Vegetarian. It's something I had been considering for a while and one day just decided to take that step and I haven't looked back. I feel really positive about knowing that no poor animal has to be killed just so I can eat. There are plenty of other options out there! It can be difficult but I feel I am much more adventurous with cooking and trying new things than I ever was. I have also experimented with veganism but this is something that would take me a while to convert to.
This month, I have also made the decision to only use 'Cruelty Free' cosmetics & household goods. This is something that I also feel good about. Although animal testing is now against the law in Europe (yay!), it is still a requirement in other countries. I hope that the more people start supporting cruelty free products it will encourage other companies to follow in their footsteps. Anyway - the point of that rant was to say that as a Cruelty Free user, I am limited to the hair dyes I can use. However, next month I will be trying Lush's Henna Hair Dye in 'Brun' - nervous / excited for this!
Bye for now,
Sam x
